Short answer

A rhombus or kite has area equal to half the product of its diagonals (8 and 6 give 24; 10 and 6 give 30). A semicircle is half of pi r squared, so r = 5 gives 39.27.

1. Formulas

ShapeAreaExample
Rhombus½ × d₁ × d₂8 and 6: 24
Kite½ × d₁ × d₂10 and 6: 30
Semicircle½ × πr²r = 5: 39.27

2. Extra facts

  • Rhombus with diagonals 8 and 6: each side is 5 (half-diagonals 4 and 3), so the perimeter is 20.
  • Semicircle perimeter: πr + 2r, which is 25.71 for r = 5.

3. Use the calculator

Enter the four corners under Irregular polygon, for example 4, 0 / 0, 3 / -4, 0 / 0, -3 for the rhombus. For a semicircle, calculate the circle in the Area Calculator and halve it.

4. Frequently asked questions

What is the area formula for a rhombus?expand_more

Half the product of the diagonals. Diagonals of 8 and 6 give 24.

Is a kite's area the same formula?expand_more

Yes, half the product of the diagonals. 10 and 6 give 30.

How do I find the area of a semicircle?expand_more

Half of pi times r squared. For r = 5 it is 39.27.

Can the calculator do these shapes?expand_more

Yes, through Irregular polygon for rhombus and kite corners, and by halving the circle for a semicircle.
