What actually matters in a relationship
No name game or quiz can predict how a relationship will go. Research on couples points to a few everyday habits that matter far more.
How you handle conflict
Couples who raise problems gently, listen, and repair after arguments tend to be more satisfied than couples who avoid conflict or attack each other.
Kindness and appreciation
Small, regular expressions of interest and thanks build trust. Contempt and constant criticism do the opposite.
Shared goals and values
Agreeing on big things, such as money, children and where to live, matters more than sharing every hobby.

How the numbers are worked out.
Love percentage
Count how many times the letters L, O, V, E and S appear in the first name, the word "loves" and the second name. Add neighbouring digits, splitting any two-digit sum into digits, until two digits remain.
e.g. counts 2 1 1 2 2 → 3 2 3 4 → 5 5 7 → 10 12 → 24FLAMES
Cross out letters the two names share. Count the letters left, then use that number to knock out letters of F L A M E S in turn. The last one standing is the result.

No. It is a game that counts letters in names. It has no scientific basis and cannot predict a relationship.
How is the love percentage worked out?
It counts the letters L, O, V, E and S across the two names and the word "loves", then keeps adding neighbouring digits until two digits are left.
What is FLAMES?
A paper-and-pencil game. Cancel the letters the two names share, count what is left, and use the count to remove letters from F L A M E S until one remains: Friends, Love, Affection, Marriage, Enemies or Siblings.
What are the five love languages?
Words of affirmation, quality time, acts of service, physical touch and receiving gifts. The idea comes from Gary Chapman. Studies have found limited evidence that matching them predicts satisfaction.
